Well I am about 10 weeks behind, but I am going to get us caught up REALLY fast….. So hang on tight….. Each week’s post will have tips and ideas on natural health which may be using teas, herbs or essential oils.
This week I thought I would start off by educating on essential oils. For those of you that are veteran essential oil users bear with me as I educate the new folks to essential oils…

Essential oils are very concentrated and with essential oils, less is always more. Not all oils can be used the same so PLEASE read your bottles carefully and heed the warnings. Some oils are very toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas unless otherwise noted.

What Is An Essential Oil?
Essential oils are natural extracts from the seeds, stems, roots, flowers, bark and other parts of the plants. There is a lot of controversy over whether there is such a thing as a (CPTG) Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oil and I will tell you that essential oils are no different than other products we need to decide upon – some are not made as well and safely as others and it is important to do your homework and personally make the decision as to what oils you wish to use. I did a years worth of research with the companies that sell essential oils before I decided upon the Essential Oils that were right for my family and I am very pleased and satisfied with the quality of the oils and the company itself.
I use Essential Oils all through our house, homestead and they are a HUGE part of our wilderness survival mindset and in all of our survival packs. The oils have improved the quality of life for our son to which is 18 and has overcome 97% of his autism/aspergers tendencies. The oils were a great aid in helping him to focus more. We use the oils while cooking and baking, with our animals and to aid in our families needs of all kinds. Utilizing Essential Oils aromatically is so beneficial and we use preventative measures by improving our immune system by utilizing Protective Blend in our diffuser as well as placing a drop on the bottom of our feet.
The Mountain Man and I diffuse a Respiratory Blend in our bedroom at night with a little bit of Grounding Blend which aids in our sleep. The Grounding Blend is one of my favorite oils because it can be my pick me up in the morning and the same oil can be used at night to calm me into sleep. How cool is that!!??!! Our body knows how to utilize the oils we are using and knows just what part of the body needs is in need at just the right time!! LOVE how God designed things!!
Here is a recipe I thought you may find helpful this time of year:
DIY Natural Health Chest Rub
4 oz coconut oil
20 drops of Respiratory Blend
Combine together and store in a small glass jar. Rub on chest & bottom of feet as needed.
