Homemade Bath Salt Recipe

Homemade Bath Salt Recipe

I have done more soaking over the last two years than I have my entire life!  Mind you, I am not complaining, even though my soaks were part of my healing regimen, what a relaxing addition to my life!

It is important that we take time for ourselves, nurture our bodies and be good to ourselves!

Soaking is a therapeutic way to take care of all three at one time!

Homemade Bath Salt Recipe

1 1/2 cup coarse sea salt
3/4 cup Epsom salt
1/4 cup baking soda
3 to 6 drops of essential oils of choice

Place in a pint jar and close with flat and ring.

This is a great recipe to gift to a friend!  Place a ribbon around the outside of the jar around the ring or just add a piece of cloth or festive holiday cloth between the flat and ring of your jar to create that special gift!

You can also add coconut oil to your bath to soften your skin while you soak and counteract the drying effects of the salt.

My favorite essential oils for my soaks are Lavender and Lemongrass.  Lemongrass is a great oil to help the body detox, but as with any essential oil – less is more.  Even though the essential oils do get diluted in the water, very little is necessary to get the full effects of the aromatherapy that you will receive.

NOTE:  It is important that you do NOT soak in Epsom salt daily, for weeks on end.  Magnesium Sulfate can have ill effects on the body, mainly the mind.  As with anything, always use in moderation.  Also, so as not to scare anyone from using Epsom salt, I personally soak in Epsom salt roughly once a week or twice a month in addition to my other soaks using different products.

Epsom salt is extremely useful in removing inflammation and pain and I would have been LOST without this recipe for the last two years.  It was an essential for me to soak weekly after my deep muscle therapy to help my body relax and to allow it to remove all the toxins.

Enjoy and remember to be good to yourself!

What is your favorite essential oil for soaking?

My Healing Protocol

My Healing Protocol

My Health ProtocolAs I sit here by my wood stove on this crisp 25 degree September morning (Winter is coming fast) I am doing a little bit of celebrating. After 5 days of nearly no sleep, I was finally able to rest!

I am currently a little over 8 months out from my surgery and I feel it is extremely necessary to continue to share my journey. Unlike other illnesses, this illness is harsh and is often rearing it’s ugly head.

You would think that after surgery, you can progress with a fairly normal life, but this illness is so very toxic. The body is ridden with so much garbage and it is essential that the toxins are removed slowly and strategically. I am looking at another year of detoxing and may be on certain supplements for years to come to reverse the nasty effects of these nasty devices and toxins.

If you are new to our website and have not read about or watched our video, I highly encourage you to do so. I am being very open about my personal health journey in an extreme effort to help others. The word needs to be spread and quickly!

I have been very lucky through this process really. Many women experiencing this evil illness have lost many if not all of their teeth and hair while others have been in health facilities for months on end due to the extreme level of bacteria in their bodies. My head of dark hair is rapidly turning white and I have my days, but I feel extremely blessed to be alive and to be able to share this with you today.  Really, in thinking about things today, the first 4 to 5 months was spent sleeping and in a lot of odd pain – either in my head or in my gut along with total body inflammation causing all kinds of skin and joint aches and pains and my vision was declining and today I experience rough days from time to time, but really I am feeling so much better.  As you will hear me say over and over again – this is an up and down process of removing things from the body.

My body was very heavily ridden internally with fungus, mold, bacteria, heavy metals such as platinum and tin and silicone.

My immune system along with my liver, adrenals, lymphatic system, thyroid, digestive tract, skin, hair, eyes, muscles and joints were heavily affected by this illness and needed special catering to. On a side note, had I not been completely in tune with my body over the last 3 years and not been self diagnosing and naturally caring for these parts of my body, I would not be here to share my journey. It truly pays to learn about our bodies and to learn how natural health,  can in essence,  save our lives and be an asset to our day to day lives.

Some Of My Struggles

Many have expressed their concerns about what I am doing to heal and how I am going about things so I thought I would share this today. It is quite extensive and I don’t think people realize just how drastic and ugly this illness is.

Diet

First of all, I do feel that a whole foods and very natural diet is the most essential part of this process, BUT I would also like to share with you what I have experienced when it comes to eating. My entire mid-section of my body was swelled up for over 8 months to the point that I could not sit straight for more than 15 minutes at a time without pain and discomfort. My body was working so hard to stay alive and everything takes place in the gut really. So my digestive system was working overtime and even after surgery – it was immediately given a break, but it also now had to take on adjusting and processing all the toxins that were now being processed. Eating has been something that I have been saying is quite OVERRATED!! Pretty much no matter what I was eating, all that food that is wonderful for the body, did not taste good nor did it digest well and I still struggle with this.

In addition to focusing greatly on probiotic health, I have learned to juice and do a liquid diet when my digestive tract is struggling more than usual and I have learned to ONLY eat what my body is craving because it knows best. I eat like a bird at best, but I am very cautious as to what I am intaking. I have almost a phobia towards GMO’s and processed foods because my body instantly flares and I get violently ill. Some people say – ah GMO’s are not that bad and if you are hungry enough you will eat anything – I can honestly tell you that the repercussions are SO not worth it to the point that I would much rather starve than put myself through that.

I LOVE fermented foods and it would be so helpful for my digestive system, but I am unable to enjoy my kombucha, kefir, and all my fermented fruits and veggies right now do to the biotoxins in my system.

So being that we need to eat daily – this has been for the most part one of my biggest struggles. Additionally, I had a lot of head pain as the toxins worked their way out of my head and my organs all started working once again like they were supposed to. Head pain for someone that uses their head and hands for 99.9% of everything she does was debilitating. The head pain and facial pain prior to surgery was so bad that I could do nothing, but lay and pray it would go away. I am thankful to say that at 8 months post surgery I do not experience a lot of the head pain any longer and for this I am SO thankful and grateful. This healing process is just that, a process.

Sleep

For the first 5+ months, my body was craving sleep. I seriously could not wake without GREAT effort before 10 or 10:30am so my productive hours were cut back considerably especially since I would try to eat, get my walk in and then need to rest again. Sleep is when we heal and is one of the most important aspects to my protocol. I could do nothing more than resign to it! I struggled at first, but I knew the importance of it!  That was why I requested prayer on day 4 of no sleep and I am thankful after 5 days that my sleep has returned!

Current Struggles

As I mentioned above I just went 5 days with next to no sleep. This has come and gone, but has thankfully not been a norm. My system was flared with a red hot face which has always been my indicator that toxins were a stirrin’! My lymphatics and adrenals were struggling and clogged as a result. I struggle a lot lately with the functionality of my hands and fingers as they lock up on me a lot and I am unable to lift heavy things. This is a hard thing for a Mountain Woman who is used to just doing what she needs to do to get it all done. I am forced to ask for help which is something I have never really had to do much in the past prior to this illness. It has been humbling and I know God has me right where he wants me so I am doing my best to REST in this place and allow him to work in me.

My Protocol

Initially, my protocol started out with anti fungals. I was so overridden with bacteria, fungus and mold and this needed to be dealt with first. I am putting a dent in this phase, but I still continue to work with these uglies.

In addition, to the anti fungals, I am taking supplements that help me rebuild my immune system, liver, thyroid, adrenals, digestive system, lymphatic system, muscles, joints, eyes, lungs, etc. So as you can see in the image above it is quite substantial. I am also replenishing a lot of vitamins and minerals that my body became very deficient in and even working on things at a molecular level.

Additionally, I visit with a deep muscle therapist weekly that helps me keep my organs and body running as optimally as we can while it works so hard to pass all the toxins. Moving toxins is really quite the process. You have to move them slowly because if you move them too fast, for one you get extremely ill and two they get stirred up in your system, but there are too many for the body to process at one time, therefore they settle back into the body and cause you additional struggles so it is essential that you do not overdue it.

I do Epsom salt foot soaks, ionic foot soaks and I use a high-frequency machine to help kill the Lyme and cancer viruses in my body.

I soak in an Epsom salt tub at least twice a week especially after my deep muscle therapy to eliminate my body being extremely sore from the process and I soak twice a week in a needle soak to help rid my body of the silicone.

I also exercise as much as I possibly can – mainly walking and riding bike and occasionally lifting on my weight bench. I do a lot of stretching to help my muscles to expel the toxins and I work in strengthening my hands and arms.  Unfortunately, I am unable to work my abs because when my body was so swollen I ended up with a hiatal hernia due to the swelling so I am trying to heal that naturally and will then continue with my ab workouts to which I love.

It is extremely important for me to drink a LOT of water as this illness has a tendency to keep the body dehydrated and for about 4 months water did not settle well with my body – I felt sick when drinking so it was quite the challenge. Lemon water and bit of stevia was a huge help to me. Lemon water is actually a wonderful tool to help the body to detox.

The body does the majority of it’s healing while we rest. As I mentioned above sleep is another one of my most valuable tools and I honestly have a nap on my daily calendar. Napping initially made me feel lazy and as though I was not doing my part here on the homestead, but I quickly came to realize what even a 30 minute siesta could offer me!  Such a relief to my body and a boost to my mind really and for that reason my nap is a non-negotiable on my calendar these days.

There are SO many supplements going into my body and although there are many other things I could do to detox, it is essential that I stick to this plan for right now. One thing you have to consider at all times is how one supplement may interact with another. If you end up combining too many things without the proper knowledge your insides become nothing more than a toxic science project gone bad.

I thank all those people that have offered me advice and suggestions, I do my due diligence and look them up if I am not already taking them and may consult with one of my three doctors or in some cases, all three of them because again at a chemical level I need to be very careful.

What you see pictured is just a third of my protocol. There is still an equal amount of tinctures and just the same in essential oils that I am diffusing!

Disclaimer

Because I am not a doctor or medical professional, in this case, I would be doing you a terrible injustice if I shared my specific protocol with you. We are all made up differently and have different variables pertaining to our healing and all the toxins, everyone dealing with this illness needs to seek the specific protocol that is right for them.  You may gladly email me anytime at survive@trayerwilderness.com and I can recommend a path to take if you are not currently detoxing and guide you to the right people to help you on your journey.

I will share this… For others on this journey dealing with getting extremely ill from odors (I never had to deal with this before, but I am SO bothered by strong odors), you can open a bottle of lemongrass essential oil and just breath it in. By doing this, you are coating your sinus membranes and the odors are nit as much of a bother. Note, this is also useful for special needs children with the same struggle or those of you that can’t shop in the candle or perfume stores.

Continuing On This Journey

As I am progressing, it will get to a point that my diet alone will be the ultimate detoxing tool, but first I must rid my body of all these pollutants.

The process of this protocol is to work in removing the biotoxicity first, then chemical and silicone and finally heavy metal toxicity.  I am still working on the biotoxicity which is the fungus, mold and bacteria.   Part of the metal chelation process will be having all my metal fillings removed which is currently scheduled for October 18th. There is a good chance this process is going to make me very sick, but it is another step in this journey to better health.

This detoxing protocol is something that could exceed 18 months post surgery and during this entire process, I will hit plateaus, deal with body flares, insomnia and varied struggles as my body fights and progresses in removing all this garbage.  It is very costly and I would like to mention to those of you following behind me or currently learning that your silicone device is causing you struggles – Christian Healthcare Ministries (CHMinistries.org) DOES NOT cover a penny of the surgery or treatments (even after we called to get confirmation of coverage prior to doing anything).  We have found out the hard way and have battled for over 8 months with no results other than an extensive medical bill looming over our heads.

Your prayers are always appreciated! I am a very positive natured person and I feel truly blessed that God used me as a vessel to help others. Do I have down days? Sure!! There is SO much more to healing than just the physical side of things and more often than not my biggest challenges are mental challenges in my need to rest in my current situation and handle my inability to do things. I am not one to complain, but I may request prayers here and there as I know the ultimate power of prayer and to me prayer is the best gift anyone could offer!

I am a fighter and a strong-willed woman – I have been forced in many situations in my life to hold my own and that is my mindset so when I am unable to do things it is probably the hardest thing for me, but I am truly learning to rest in it and learning how to REST and be better to myself instead of feeling the need to keep pushing on. Rest will be my catalyst and my healer right now.

So for those of you that are on this journey with me and may be following behind me, do not be intimidated by what I have shared today. Each person is different and you and your body will handle things differently. Rest in the fact that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and stick to your protocol no matter what other people may say, don’t take everything that everyone suggests because it is just an accident waiting to happen and rest in God as he heals you.

My Biggest Words Of Advice To You…

Be strong and focus on enjoying the journey.   Something that helps me greatly is spending a LOT of time with God and focusing on him and the blessings he is constantly providing.  Celebrate the wins like I am today – sleep was an incredible gift to me and now as I end this post today, I am off to walk the wilds with my furry children and take further care of myself!

God bless you all and for those of you on this journey with me feel free to leave your questions and your celebrations below!! I would love to hear from you!

I know many of you also struggle with other health issues and I want you to know that I pray daily for our audience and always LOVE hearing from you ALL!!

I’d like to ask EVERYONE to PLEASE PLEASE spread the word on how silicone products in the body are a disaster and death waiting to happen.   Share these links with EVERYONE you know:  http://trayerwilderness.com/ourhealthjourneyvideo and http://trayerwilderness.com/destructive-silent-killer-silicone-poisoning/

The Destructive, Silent Killer: Silicone Poisoning

The Destructive, Silent Killer: Silicone Poisoning

The Destructive Silent Killer - Silicone PoisoningAs many of you know, I am recovering from major surgery right now.   My surgery was on January 29, 2016 and for the next year to year and a half I will be detoxing and doing special treatments to regain my health.  There are many women who were not so lucky!

Some of you have already watched the video myself and my Mountain Man produced to share our story or listened to my podcast, but I felt it necessary to write our story also for those of you unable to watch videos or listen to podcasts.

Our video can be found at http://trayerwilderness.com/ourhealthjourneyvideo and my podcast can be listened to here: http://trayerwilderness..com/podcast–131.

This is a personal story and although I have had great pain and suffering, I feel that God used me as a vessel so that I can Pay It Forward and help others and that is exactly what I intend to do. Additionally, I feel very blessed to be able to share my story because my illness almost took my life.

In 1991 and again in 2004 I had lumps removed from my right breast. I was young, felt misshapen and bought into my doctor’s spiel about how safe the new saline implants were hook, line and sinker.

For the last three years, my health has been progressively declining. Medical doctors laughed at me and told me that it was in my head and I was full of poo. They were wrong, as most plastic surgeons and doctors are today when they tell women that their implants couldn’t be causing their health issues. Thankfully I had the knowledge to know how to self-diagnose and self-medicate with natural remedies which honestly was my saving grace. I knew that my immune system, adrenal glands, lymph glands, thyroid, and liver were taxed and sluggish so I was treating them on a regular basis but did not know the cause. I tried sleeping more and trying to take better care of myself, but my health continued to decline.

I went from being a very physically fit, athletic, driven person to someone who within a months time was nearly wheelchair bound, unable to walk more than a 1/4 mile unassisted, unable to sit straight for more than 15 minutes without pain, unable to lift a canning jar a 1/3 full of dry oatmeal when only months before was lifting 85 lbs on my weight bench. I had heat traveling up and down my arms and legs, a swollen face, entirely swollen abdominal area, blurred vision and dry eyes, could drink enough water for my entire family in a day and was still dehydrated, chest pain, a hiatal hernia due to all the swelling in my abdomen, digestive issues, pains in my breasts, swollen lymph glands, sinus issues, nauseated all the time, unable to eat, I was losing my hair by the handfuls, debilitating headaches and face pain, symptoms of fibromyalgia, lupus, Lyme, MS, my adrenals, thyroid, liver, kidneys and immune system were taxed and no longer working properly as well as SO many other symptoms. Holding a conversation became an issue as well because I could not keep my thoughts to save my life. Doing my radio show became such a challenge and a fear at the same time because I never knew from minute to minute what my body and mind would do.

It was honestly such a scary time for myself and my men. I knew I was sick and didn’t know what was causing it and men are fixers and they had to resign to watching my health decline and were unable to do anything to help me. As I mentioned in our video and podcast, it is important to think of each other’s feelings during such trying times and to realize that we all think differently and handle situations differently. So communication is key and understanding that when your man is angry it is probably because he can’t fix you so it comes out in anger.

It was really quite amazing how I was diagnosed and many of you will think I am crazy.  As many of you know, we take our faith very seriously and God is the head of our family. During my sickness, I became even closer to God and he truly shared things with me. This was something I often prayed to have the ability to do – to hear him speaking to me… It was awing…

I felt God nudged me to get an ionic foot bath. I have used them in the past (pre-implants) to help detox my body, but I never owned one. I knew we could all benefit from it, so when we had the money I purchased one. When it arrived I could not wait to use it and pulled out all the paperwork and was reading over everything before my first soak. One of the first warnings on the pamphlet was if you have implants of any kind you should not use it… I was so disappointed and decided to do some searching on the internet and the 2nd line of my first search revealed a link to Breast Implant Illness!

It was like someone smacked me in the face or flipped the switch to the BIG neon sign! The link revealed all the symptoms to Breast Implant Illness and my mouth continued to drop open. I was a walking poster board child for this illness. I had all the symptoms, but one. I just cried, but they were more tears of joy to know FINALLY what was causing me to be so sick.

The next night my eyes went wide open at 1:50 am and I felt nudged to search and search and search about this illness and EVERYTHING I searched brought me to Dr. Susan Kolb, MD of Plastikos.com and author of The Naked Truth About Breast Implants. I knew that God was pointing me in the direction of Dr. Kolb. She could not have been more suited for the job, not only does she treat people from all over the USA and all over the country, but Dr. Kolb was her own guinea pig many years ago when she personally had Breast Implant Illness (BII). She is not only a medical doctor, but she is also a naturopath and a wealth of information when it comes to ridding the body of all the poisons.

What Is Breast Implant Illness (BII)

Breast implant illness is a period of sickness affecting the body caused by silicone or saline breast implants. Symptoms of breast implant illness vary from body to body due to personal differences, the type of breast implants and the progression of the illness.

It appears that a few symptoms show up a little earlier and more consistently such as fatigue, cognitive dysfunction (brain fog, memory loss), joint and muscle pain, hair loss and dryness throughout the body including organs and glands.

I highly recommend, if you are experiencing fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, joint and muscle pain, hair loss and dryness throughout the body, it is your body indicating to you that the implants are causing illness and should be removed as soon as possible.

Because breast implants affect most body systems, symptoms are widespread and can be related to toxicity, immune dysfunction/failure, auto-immune diseases, neurological symptoms, endocrine symptoms and metabolic symptoms.

What Is Silicone Toxicity

I feel it very necessary to mention this… Silicone Toxicity is not just from breast implants, but from anything silicone in your body such as stomach belts for weight loss, silicone mesh for hernias and varied other uses as well as the medical ports used for different procedures. PLEASE be aware that you too may be affected and it is very important to spread the word. These items are killing people.

Why Breast Implants and Silicone Make Us Sick

Breast implants and silicone cause illness because they are large foreign objects which overwhelm and impair our immune systems causing immune system dysfunction and auto-immune symptoms. Immune system dysfunction allows opportunistic bacteria and fungi to grow out of control causing serious bacterial and fungal infections in our body which produce large amounts of bio-toxins which overload our organs. In addition, implants are made of silicone which is a chemical soup of dangerous toxins and heavy metals that when implanted in the body begin breaking down due to body chemistry and releasing and circulating particulates of silicone and neuro-toxic, cyto-toxic, carcinogenic chemicals and heavy metals contaminating tissues, organs, glands and body systems. Simply put silicone is a biologically active and toxic substance that causes bio-toxins and systemically poisons and impairs many functions of the body.

Many people feel that the saline implants are safe, but they could not be more incorrect. I had saline implants and nearly lost my life to them. The problem with saline implants is that the valves leak which then allows fungis, bacteria and mold to form within the implants as well as around the implants. This combination is very toxic. Something as simple as hugging someone can cause the deadly concoction to leave the implant and enter the body causing you to get very sick. Additionally, the saline implants have a silicone outer shell which is still allowing silicone into the body and most cases the silicone had leached into the saline so it is still entering the body upon the valves leaking.

Life Without Implants

Ladies, we should be celebrating ourselves. We were beautifully and wonderfully created and to ever feel we are not enough or to allow a doctor to tell us we need to be more is ludicrous. I am celebrating my life and my body. I am proud of who I am, who God has sculpted me to be and how he made me. My regrets are that I did not feel like I was enough before because as I stated previously, I feel as though God is using me as a vessel to help other people so I am not losing sleep over a decision made 12 years ago. Instead, I have a voice and a heart to help, inspire and heal and that is exactly where my focus is.  I found a book recently titled Raising Body-Confident Daughters: 8 Conversations To Have With Your Tween and I think this is something that all young girls should see.  Our society puts too much emphasis on our outer appearance and not enough on the person that is inside!

Are You Still Considering Implants? Love Yourself For Who You Are Instead!

For those of you that are reading this and are actually considering and feeling the need to enhance your body, might I just say PLEASE DON’T DO IT‼ If reading the above is not enough to scare you, remember I almost lost my life‼ Do you have children or do you want to have children? If the answer is yes – do you want to lose an ounce of precious time with them? Would you also want to poison them while breast feeding? Consider your family – you will be sick it will just be a matter of when. You will lose your valuable and precious time to this illness – it will sneak in and steal your life. I am SLOWLY regaining my life and I am here to encourage you to think twice. They are not worth it‼ I am celebrating being me and happy with who I am and how I was created. Please look in the mirror and think about all the amazing things you love to do and the people you love – that will be impaired down the road when the illness sets in… Love yourself for who you are and how you were made and go out and enjoy your life‼

If you have a man in your life that is pressuring you to enhance your figure, you may be with the wrong man. A real man will love you for who you are both inside and out and would NEVER ask that of you!

If you have friend’s in your life pressuring you, PLEASE have them read this and you may consider finding new friends!

This may sound harsh and if nearly dying is not enough for you, what will you do when you start losing all your hair & your teeth, being quarantined in a facility because you have picked up unusual viruses and bacteria because your immune system is so impaired, wheelchair bound maybe for life and end up extremely over weight. This is happening to women all over the country and I am using my voice in hopes of eliminating you from becoming a statistic too!

Please share this with EVERYONE you know – if is important that the word is spread and remember this is not just for those with/or thinking of getting breast implants, but those with stomach belts, silicone mesh, medical ports or any form of silicone in the body. This is also not limited to women so please share with EVERYONE you know.

If you feel this has revealed answers to your own prayers and you feel you may be suffering from silicone poisoning, feel free to email me at any time at survive@trayerwilderness.com and below you will find some great resource.

Are You Really Prepared For Medical Emergencies?

Are You Really Prepared For Medical Emergencies?

Are You Really Prepared For Medical EmergenciesIt is really easy to think we are prepared for anything, but are we really?

It is important to live without fear as it is a waste of time and precious energy and to focus on being prepared.   You will find great comfort in times of turmoil when you have already rehearsed things in your brain many times, practiced them as a family or have protocols in place.

May 11th on our homestead is not a day I wish to relive. We were having a nice evening enjoy a good Christian movie and just having a quiet night. All was good and God certainly had this night specially orchestrated.

Normally I am a few minutes later heading to bed than the Mountain Man, but THANKFULLY this night I was ahead of him and getting settled in prior to him lying down. He took a natural over the counter sleep aid which was 100% valerian root, BUT he chewed it when he should have swallowed it. Was it the coating? Did he actually take two and not one? That will always be a mystery because after he chewed the pill EVERYTHING was forgotten.

He headed out of the bedroom filled his water container and returned to the bedroom. He shut off the light, laid down and was no longer really communicating with me. Had I come to bed even two minutes after him that evening like I normally do I would have assumed he was just exhausted, I would have left him sleep and morning would have come and he would have been with Jesus‼

I asked him if he was ok, because he just seemed off… Usually, we will chat before we sleep about our day and we would do so with the light on so when he turned the light off that was a BIG indicator that something was off and then he did not communicate well with me. I asked him if he was ok and in a dreamy voice he said “I am fine… I love you?.” So I rattled him (shook him) and a normal response to that would have been, “What the heck are you doing to me‼ “. When he didn’t even react I knew something was up so I turned on the light to find his pupils HUGE and extremely dilated… and he wasn’t very responsive…

911 here we come… I’ve played this out many times in my mind… Was I freaked out? SURE, but I knew I needed to stay calm and roll with what was happening…

911 would not go through when I tried. The direct line to the sheriff’s told me it was the wrong number when indeed it was correct and on a ditch effort, I tried a friend of ours that on occasion runs with the ambulance and Praise The Lord I was connected…

I told him our gate would be unlocked and to please call the ambulance and got them in route, the Mountain Boy headed and opened the gate while my dear friend Rhonda and I kept the Mountain Man breathing. It was getting harder and harder to do so. Shortly after calling my friend, another friend reached out via FB messenger to tell me that 911 needed more information so while rattling my man to keep him awake, I was also messaging my friend Jaque to keep the EMT and ambulance up to date on his condition. He literally stopped breathing 7 or 8 times before the ambulance arrived.

We also have a Life Flight plan so that we can quickly call and have a helicopter dispatched to our location. Having these things in place, numbers by the phone and a plan in place will make these experiences much less stressful, but living in the wilds of Idaho, off-grid, things can happen and we knew this stepping into this lifestyle.

We do not live in fear, fear is debilitating and a waste of priceless energy, but we do live prepared. We discuss these things as a family and as a family we have protocols in place for many different things such as these types of situations, fires, intruders, etc… Being prepared keeps us a step ahead and in this case, ALL ALIVE!!

As soon as the EMT arrived and saw the Mountain Man’s condition, they got him into the ambulance and in route to the hospital. He did not have an anthralactic shock experience, but more just a reaction to the pill(s) – the pills caused his side of the brain that tells you to breath to basically stop working. We arrived at the hospital at about 11:20 on the evening of the 11th and it wasn’t until 3 am after sedating him and putting a breathing tube in that they got him settled. Blood work, cat scans and many chest x-rays were taken and nothing else appeared to be causing his issues.

I just thank the good Lord that he orchestrated things that evening the way he did or I would have awoke on Thursday as a widow! Selfishly, I am thankful that God has further purpose for him here on earth and was not ready to take him!

This is not something I ever wish to relive, but I am thankful we had plans in place and that in experiencing this we have all grown in our knowledge and are proud of how we handled things and that we were prepared. This was a good experience for the Mountain Boy as well. It has matured him in ways I could have never prepared him for and he learned that he is capable of reacting properly in such situations. When the Mountain Man fell 16 feet from the ladder that started to fall while building our house in 2010, the Mountain Boy was paralyzed by the event and didn’t react nor knew how to react. Good can always come from bad experiences and there is always something to learn from each experience we go through.

I can’t encourage you enough to have plans in place, discuss things as a family, numbers by the phone and protocols together for all scenarios that may affect you in your neck of the woods. Whether it is hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, wildfires, health emergencies, bug out plans, bug in plans, etc…, discuss it, be prepared and be ready!

Our families are our most valuable possessions and if you don’t take time now to be prepared you may be putting one of them or yourself at risk!

Know who to call for whatever needs you may have and have backup plans if you can’t get through. Being proactive and having things such as Benadryl, and Epipens available for those with allergies and things on hand for known varying needs. In this case, had we not been able to get help and attention for the Mountain Man the next step would have been to get him in the truck and get him to the hospital as quickly as we could. Thankfully we did not have to take matters into our own hands, but knowing what to do is important.

Here are three resources I feel are very important to have on hand or to participate in:

The Survival Doctor’s Complete Handbook by James HUbbard, MD, MPH

The Survival Doctor’s Lifesaver Course

The Survival Doctor’s Master Course

If you are considering a jump to off-grid and remote living, please take into consideration that you will most likely be in a location that will have definite delays in varying services such as fire, ambulance, police, etc… And all the more reason we need to be extra prepared living this lifestyle.

Do you have protocols in place?? What scary situations have you experienced?

Spring & Summer Essential Oil Diffuser Recipes

Spring & Summer Essential Oil Diffuser Recipes

Spring & Summer Essential Oil Diffuser Recipes

There is something refreshing and even romantic to me about diffusing essential oils.  I love all things natural and I also am excited when one thing provides multiple purposes in my home.

I used to be a MAJOR candle junky!!  I had candles burning in every room of my house, on the back porch and even in my chimneya.  I just LOVE the comfort and ambience created by the warm glow of a candle.

This all changed when I was introduced to using a diffuser.  Now don’t get me wrong – I do still love a candle, but I have gotten very choosy when it comes to what I am putting in the air I breathe.   Since being extremely ill, I have to be very careful what I am breathing and putting on my body because every little thing affects me and not in such good ways.

The diffuser is a great way to have wonderful aromas floating through your home adding great benefits to those that occupy it!

I have been focusing heavily on natural medicines, herbs and essential oils since I was 14 years old and the older I get the more I enjoy the benefits of things from nature.  Our society has gotten so toxic with chemical cleaners, gmo’s in our food, dangerous ingredients in our health care products and in seeing this, it has led me to be more careful what I use in my house, on my body and what I feed my family.

In several upcoming posts, I will share with you what I use and make for my personal skin & hair care products and the natural cleaners I use in my home.  I enjoy making the items I use because I know they are healthier for my family and are saving us a lot of money.

Instead of grabbing your store bought sprays and candles, I encourage you to learn to use essential oils in your home.  Below you will find some wonderful natural, safe, healthy and beneficial essential oil blends that I know you will enjoy.

Citrus Mint

2 drops lemon

2 drops wild orange

2 drops lime

2 drops grapefruit

3 drops spearmint

2 drops peppermint

Let It Go

2 drops vetiver

2-3 drops lavender

3 drops sandalwood

2 drops clary sage or cedarwood

Floral Bouquet

2 drops lavender

2 drops geranium

2 drops ylang ylang

1-2 drops rose (optional)

Free Spirit

2 drops patchouli

2-3 drops lavender

3-4 drops sandalwood

Spring Rain

2 drops lavender

1-2 drops cypress

3 drops bergamot

3 drops clary sage

Sun-Kissed

2 drops juniper berry

2 drops grapefruit

1 drop wild orange

There are SO many benefits to each of the essential oils listed above.  As I mentioned, they not only provide wonderful scents and aromas through your house, but they have wonderful calming, relaxing and aiding benefits to the body and mind.

Be sure to get yourself a diffuser.  I promise you, you will not regret having one and you know I am a frugal person, but this is one investment that has been worth every penny.  There are many diffusers to choose from so if you would like assistance in purchasing one feel free to let me know in the comments below.

In addition to using essential oils, I encourage you to learn the benefits of each oil.  As many of you know, we have a pretty substantial library of books and one of which I recommend to anyone looking to learn more about essential oils is, Modern Essentials.

Modern Essentials is an amazing book loaded with the uses for each of these oils, the history of the oils, scientific details and so much more.  I always say it is extremely important to keep learning and I feel that this is one area that we should all be expanding upon as well as learning more about the plants and edibles God has put on this earth for all our needs.

Stay tuned, we will be conducting several webinars in the near future on essential oil benefits, uses and more…

Are you interested in learning more?  Let me know in the comments below…
