What a combination, right?  Are you here just out to see where I am headed with this one??

Well in our northern Idaho wilderness home all three are essential!

Mountain Woman Journals - Simple LivingWe truly make EVERYTHING from scratch.  I make all our condiments, desserts, snacks, power bars, cereals, breads, crackers, graham crackers, tortillas, nachos, meals, you name it…  Our greenhouse will go in this spring, but up until now I would jar or can every fruit or vegetable I could get my hands.  I also make our own laundry detergent, deodorant, shampoo, candles, soaps, shower gels and working on toothpaste.

I truly believe that packaged and processed foods will be the death of our nation. There are so many preservatives in our food.  Do you ache, feel bloated, not feel well regularly, gain weight, get headaches, do you suffer from stomach and digestive issues etc….???  Try eating healthier and I can guarantee you will feel a lot better.

We are healthier individuals and living our simple lifestyle is really very rewarding.

We also are 100% gluten free and casein free.  For those of you that may be new to that terminology – that is 100% wheat free and 100% dairy free.  Our son is high functioning autistic and this provided me the opportunity to meet my real son for the 1st time 9 years ago when he started this diet and became vocal.  Prior to this diet my son was on an emotional roller coaster ride, suffered extreme bowel troubles and was unable to hold full conversations.  This diet is AMAZING for autistic and asperger individuals.  My son and I also have another website:  www.SpectrumKidsInTheOutdoors.com where we take great pleasure in educating others on our diet and lifestyle.  Below you will find a video with great tips, tricks and resources on the Gluten Free and Casein Free Diet.

As for the guns, well we live in a location that I could walk out my front door and meet a wolf, coyote, bear, cougar, and a moose and her young, all though I enjoy seeing them, they are dangerous and especially right outside my front door.

The other very important thing about our guns is that it is our right to carry and own a firearm.  I love our country and what our forefather's fought for.  I believe in our Constitution and feel that it is essential for us to come together as a nation and stand up for our rights.

I wanted to take the time to remind everyone to contact your state representatives and let them know that you too wish to keep our 2nd amendment rights.  If you are homesteading or pioneering you will need to protect your family and your flocks from unwanted predators – whether they are the two or four legged kind.  It is your right.

I know at all times that my husband has my back and he knows as well that I have his.  Again this is our right and I don't want to lose that and I hope that you, as a homesteader and US citizen also wish to keep our rights.

Spread the word, protect our rights and stand strong!
