  1. Hi Tammy,
How lovely to hear you altogether, discussing your homesteading necessities. We live only three kilometres from town so we are actually on the grid system although we have solar panels and sell power back to the grid, so we are making a bit of money from our panels. I haven’t ever really had the need for a clothes dryer as I always hang our washing outside unless it is raining and then I use a clothes horse. I believe you call it a clothes rack. In winter I usually air the clothes in front of the fire to make sure they are dried well. One thing I notice some people do is to leave their clothes pegs, you call them clothes pins, out on the clothes line. This is something I never do as they will deteriorate over time. I have had most of my wooden clothes pegs all my married life and very rarely do they break. We also use mainly natural fibres for our clothes and I would imagine a clothes dryer would wear the clothes out fairly quickly with the heating and tumbling. Another great podcast today.
