The_Power_of_Positive_Thinking.JPGHave you ever paid attention to your thoughts or maybe that inner voice inside?  Have you noticed that it can be pretty negative?

I am guilty of this too sometimes and I believe we all are…  Sometimes we can be our worst enemy…

I believe that I am truly blessed – I see God's hand at work in my life as well as that of my family, but I have spent a lot of this year not feeling very well physically.  This came as a result of having many responsibilities, too many long hour days and not having enough time to be good to myself.

During this time, I have caught myself looking in the mirror and seeing someone old and haggered, feeling overwhelmed and tired and at times allowing a lot of self-pity to creep in – I spend all my days working and I am not good enough, I am not a good mother, I am not a good wife, I am not a good friend, etc…   This in and of itself is hard for me because I am SUCH a positive thinker, embracer of positive things, knowing that so many other people are really suffering and have reasons, real reasons, to be down – so then I would beat myself up for feeling the way I was feeling.

Then there are many people that are effected by the people surrounding them, telling them they are not worthy, they are not good enough, they will never amount to anything and these words settle deep in our souls and sadly we believe these things.  I think each and every one of us has experienced this and has a scar or two still lingering within us….

I am here today, to tell you that no matter what kind of negative words you are speaking to yourself, no matter what that the inner voice is speaking to you or no matter what the people around you are allowing you to think….  They are not TRUE!!    Not only are they not true, but by believing them, saying them and listening to that inner voice you are willing it or allowing those things to be….  You are inviting in those negative thoughts over and over again…

I am not pretty…  And you know you won't be, but there is a beautiful person that everyone else sees inside and out.

I am not smart…  And you know you will remain dumb, but inside a genius is waiting to surface.

I am not worthy…  And you know you will continue to be not worthy – holding yourself back from GREAT, GREAT accomplishments.

I am tired and wore out…   And you know you will continue to be tired and wore out….

I'll never be able to live a self sustainable life like the Trayer's….  And you are right, you won't – you will keep all the doors from opening…

You can start today to make a change, a POSITIVE change in your day and in your future!  You can change EVERYTHING…  You can change EVERYTHING by putting a simple twist on that voice…

I am pretty…  Pow…. Yes you are – both inside and out…

I am smart…  Oh YES you are….

I am worthy…  Absolutely you are….

I am alive and I will feel good…   Wow look how good you will start to feel…..

I can't wait to live a self sustainable life like the Trayer's….  And you will….  All the doors will open in God's time…

You need to realize that these negative words can effect EVERY part of your life.  Your homesteading dreams, your finances, your view of yourself, your job, everything….

The first step in changing your life to a very well lived POSITIVE life is to listen to what you are telling yourself and what others have said to you that you have allowed deep down to become your truth – you need to change them…

You need to remember that you have been fearfully and wonderfully made!   You are special and you are one of a kind – God made you, is proud of you and loves you!

I thought I would share the following with you….

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them – Work – Family – Health – Friends – Spirit, and you're keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls — family, health, friends and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered.

They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life. How?

  1. Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.
  2. Don't set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you.
  3. Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.
  4. Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live ALL the days of your life.
  5. Don't give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
  6. Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us together.
  7. Don't be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.
  8. Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly; and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
  9. Don't run through life so fast that you forget not only where you've been, but also where you are going.
  10. Don't forget that a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.
  11. Don't be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.
  12. Don't use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved.

Here is a little something to listen to before going about the rest of your day…
