Oh such an exciting week. We are now officially milking out girlies (milk goats) both mornings and evenings and honestly have more milk that I know where to go with. Notice I did not say more than I know what to do with because OH how I know what to do with it…. I am just running out of containers to freeze it in and my fridge is getting quite piled up. I am making power drinks all week with my special powdered greens and goat milk, I have milk kefir on my counter every day to which I am using for smoothies and salad dressing ( YEAH oh how I had a hankerin for homemade ranch dressing), my men are drinking chocolate goats milk everyday and everyday I am freezing many quarts for goat’s milk soap!! Oh such a bounty, but with bounty comes a bit of chaos! 🙂 I have one goat who hates getting up on the stand so my arms, lats, back, shoulders and thighs will be in nice shape till this is all said and done and the other goat is a kicker (not always, but when she gets it in her mind that it is time to kick it is not pretty)! The Mountain Boy is getting quite the workout hanging on to kicking feet so as to not lose any of the precious homestead gold in the bucket and if she is not kicking she goes limp and lowers her belly into the bucket so I need to hold her up while trying to milk. It is quite the experience, but they are both just like their mothers which is funny and crazy at the same time. If only you all could be the fly on the milk stand, you would be gut laughing everyday AT us!!
SO with that being said, I chose Erica from Mom Prepares post titled How To Raise Moscovy Ducks. Now folks this is a podcast and there are two reasons I chose this, one because I would really love to add ducks to our homestead and because I love JandJAcres.net. Jared has a whole lot of awesomeness going on at his homestead with his lovely family and I enjoy what Jared always has to share! Thanks so much Erica for sharing this post… I find it always funny that what I am looking for each week always appears in the Simple Life Sunday contributions… Blessings lovely lady to you and yours!! ♥
One of the greatest blessings from this Simple Life Sunday for me is seeing everyone learning from each other.
