Wow, what a great week we have had here in the wilderness. Our neighbors/family visited from Washington this week which provided us with good company, good conversation, good meals and relaxing by the fire feels SO good! As Gregg Carter mentioned in his post this week it is good to have a solid foundation, strong family ties and and a good guide book for our everyday life!
We are blessed to have it all – we put God first, value our family and read his word daily! God’s word is so powerful and many people don’t realize the benefits of coming closer to God. They also don’t realize that the Bible is not just a set of rules on how not to do things, but a guide of how to do things and the basis for strong faith and hope in a troubled times! It is a solid foundation to which we are supposed to be a solid light to others. Our actions will out weight anything we preach and today people do not wish to be preached to – their eyes are blinded by the fashion again as Gregg stated so it is up to our solid actions to show people how God’s grace can truly benefit each and everyone of us! It is a gift for everyone and not everyone is ready to receive that gift. I encourage you to be a light – don’t just talk a good talk! May what you preach be reflected in what you do as well – in everything you say and everything you do!!
We have been led as a family to make a difference this week. While our friend’s were visiting they shared with us an event on the 4th of July they thought we would be interested in. We registered ourselves for the Camp Patriot 5k 100lb Ruck March and Fun Run in Pasco, WA. Our registration fees are what raises the money for the event and the more we thought about it, the more we felt the $105.00 for all three of us to enter was just not enough, so we have decided to take this the EXTRA MILE…
We would like to encourage you to join us and share this with your friends…. Camp Patriot’s passion is to help give hope to our wounded and disabled veterans. The closer you walk to God, the more you will understand his will for you and see where he is leading you! You will also be more willing to allow him to lead the way than thinking you always know what is best. We feel very led to make a strong effort to help those that support us, are willing to sacrifice it all for us and never seem to receive the honor and respect they deserve! We hope that you will help us to spread the word and make just a small fraction of a difference!

All the posts shared this week were, as usual, all wonderful and I thank each of you for joining me. It is great to see SO many posts being shared and more people joining us!
I chose Gregg Carter’s post once again from The Rural Economist with his post titled Principle vs Fashion. Our world is currently a pretty crazy place and I think for those of us attempting to pull away and live a more traditional life, we see things a bit differently. I feel because we are further away from the craziness we see more blessings and see the world through different lenses. I thought his post really touched on the fact that many have stepped away from the important principles in our life and a strong foundation and I know it is both of our hope that more people are able to see this and understand the importance of a strong foundation in this crazy time! My hope is that you will all take the time to reach his post as well as the others shared!! Gregg thanks for adding your Wednesday devotional to your site and sharing them here on the Simple Life Sunday!! Blessings to you and yours!!
Thank you for sharing and I would like to invite you to join Kat’s Sunday Social (our sister hop).
I look very forward to seeing what you will have to share this week!
